AirBNB Revolution – Cheap Holiday Accommodation in Europe

November 16th, 2012 | Posted by SummerGirl in blog - (0 Comments)

Last time in Europe was end of summer, from end of Aug to end of September for a month. All the hotels we booked were over $100 per night as an average rate since we didn’t want to be too faraway from city center.

This time we planned to stay in Europe for about 3 months and drive around, which put quite some pressure to find accommodation. One positive thing is we drive, so we have no need to stay in the center of the city, which opens more windows for further options. I tried to search websites to book hotels, but the result was not so appealing. From a TV program, we found out AirBnB, which provides a platform for people who list their own properties to travelers as B & B to earn extra cash, and for travelers to stay in local people’s home – can be private apartment, shared house or even boats… the price sometimes can be half price of the hotel in the same area. The most fascinating thing is you got to see the real local style, where local people live, where they eat, where they talk gossips.

The booking process is not that complicated, we just browsed the well designed website, like you booking hotels, you put in your travel destination, dates, etc. then you can browse the list. See the description, see the host profile and importantly, other guests’ reviews, which proved to be helpful for our decision making. Then you can send some request to the host, confirm the dates, get rid of your doubts then pay.

So far we have been travelling for almost 2 months, 80% of time we stayed at homes from AirBnB hosts & we had great experiences. Although from time to time, we might encounter some problems, such as the address was not too clear, etc. but I could testify the pros are definitely much bigger than cons. Over the time, we also learned a lot how to deal with the hosts, what questions to ask, what should prepare before arrival.

Check out some of the places we stayed –

Paris, France

View from the Balcony, Paris

Rested well allowed us to enjoy the beautiful views in Paris

Munich, Germany

Our stay in Landshut, not far from Munich

Beautiful View from the hill in Landshut, Germany

Of course we had time to visit Munich for Oktoberfest!!!

Switzerland

Beautiful Lucerne, Switzerland

Belgrade, Serbia

Lovely View from our Balcony in Balgrade, Serbia

Amalfi Coast, Italy

We stayed at an older style unit in Minori, Amalfi Coast

Mesmerized in the amazing View of Amalfi Coast

Rome, Italy

We stayed in the slick unit with lovely view outside Rome - 15 mins train ride to the center

Roman Forum - beautiful beautiful weather

Our travel is continuing, and we already booked some more accommodations with AirBnB hosts. Can’t wait to see more areas and taste of local culture.

If you are planning your next trip, why not give AirBnb a go? You can also be a wonderful host to rend out your unit or room! A of of fun, for sure!

Scorching summer, on the beach… playing with waves & sipping cocktail… what a life!  Apart from sexy bikini, swimwear, another must have is the cover up.

IF you are not 100% confident about your body shape, cover-up can help you easily… you only need to expose your body when you jump into the water.

If you are 120% confident about your body, but sometimes try to cover some & be ‘illusive’, cover-up is the best choice. Easy to put on and take off, sometimes you look even with some cover on and flash off your beautiful body from time to time.

There are millions of designs for cover ups and they are so easy to wear and also compliment to your body.

Summer Weekend Outfit – Pink & blue

June 10th, 2012 | Posted by SummerGirl in blog - (0 Comments)

Like summer – summer means millions of beautiful summer dresses, sandals, beach, water,  eating ice cream without feeling guilty, olive colored skin and so many cool things…

Although the heat sometimes is unbearable, we can still find way to escape and have fun in summer! It’s Sunday today, we decided to go out to the aquarium for a spin then have afternoon tea.  What should I wear?

Here is the final mix & match – based on the summer color and a bit vintage feel:

Summer Weekend Outfit Suggestion

1. Mint Floral Vest Dress
Sleeveless mint floral print vest dress – the pretty print is vintage modern feel, body hugging cut add even more feminine flavour into it.

2.Royal Blue Quilt Bracelet
This unique bracelet is one of my favorite –  Cool quilted Lucite with diamond-shaped charms and crystals, it’s an ultra-chic addition to any outfit.

3. Joie Let’s Go Crazy Woven Wedges
These leather slides feature a woven upper and stud details at the footbed. The color nicely match the floral dress.  Wooden platform & wedge heel give you height but not discomfort.
4. Rachel Zoe Charlotte Envelope Clutch
Similar color with the wedges, this snake-embossed leather clutch features a logo plate at the front flap and metal accents at the corners. Just to add a little bit of wildness to the entire outfit. :)

I feel so good and hope you have a lovely Sunday too!  Ciao!

We had a great time.  And you know what? My girl friend and a lot of passerby  kinda of gave me heaps of compliment on my outfit, which made me quite happpppy.

I will show you what outfit I worn last weekend and show you where to get them.

Red or Dead swimwear, a real eclectic British design…

May 16th, 2012 | Posted by SummerGirl in blog - (0 Comments)

From Red or Dead, you can see what eclectic British Design is.  Oh yeah, trust me.

Red or Dead

A unique, daring and accessible British brand with a healthy attitude, whose cutting edge design and innovative approach set a great standard for the industry. And No, not everything from Red or Dead is red. :)

Red or Dead started by couple Wayne Andrew Hemingway and Gerardine Hemingway in 1982. They emptied their wardrobes and sold them on market and by the end of the year, they had 16 stalls.  With shipments of second-hand clothing and footwear being brought in from all over the world.

Footwear becomes a major force at Red or Dead – firstly old stock of 1950s and 1960s canvas, then canvas sourced from the Far East.  They stared opening shops across the UK, like the bamboo sprouts after the rain — Red or Dead won the British Fashion Council’s inaugural Street Style Designer of the Year Award in 1995, their design are bold, sassy, unique, individulistic, desinger’s inspiration came from everywhere - controversial reality, certain era, pop culture.  In Year 2010, Red or Dead consolidated all its products– clothing, footwear, bags, swimwear, sunglasses and hosiery in one advertising campaign with the inspiration by Vladimir Tretchikoff’s Chinese Girl.  Last year, 2011, Red or Dead launched two more product categories in the guise of printilicious fashion bicycles with iconic Brit brand Raleigh and launched its first ever fragrance ‘Release Me’ with ‘lost in a maze’ inspired campaign.

Among all, I personally prefer Red or Dead swimwear.  They look simple, but you feel they have a lot to say.  This summer, they proudly released Rescue Me cheekily printed retro inspired swimwear, featured by many fashion magazines. Glamorous figure shaping styles and splashing colour to flatter everybody…
